Shanghai has a very developed active life culture. There are tournaments and leagues for almost every major sport. Perhaps the biggest sports sensation available to the expat community is the Shanghai Ultimate Players Association (SUPA) , which has a well maintained website and sponsors a rugby club as well as Gaelic football and cricket games. Another one is Shanghai International Football (soccer) league , which has played from September through June. There are ten teams in the league consist of players from different nationalities, and players of all levels are invited to come.
Other than team sports, there are so many different styles of sports to participate, ranging from major sports (such as Golf, Squash, Tennis, Bowling and Cricket, etc.) to special sports (such as rock climbing, martial arts and horse-riding, etc.).The sporting facilities in Shanghai are generally good and very accessible for foreigners.
